Lenten Mission at St. Francis Xavier

What Discipleship Means Today:  The Pope Francis Influence with Father Tony Gittins

February 26, 27, 28   7:30 – 8:30 pm

St. Francis Xavier Church, 9th and Linden, Wilmette

All  at Sacred Heart are cordially invited!

Over and over the scriptures mention discipleship; but do we really get it?  A gifted speaker and author, Tony Gittins’ life’s work has been to delve into what Jesus meant when he talked about discipleship and what it means for us now to be disciples in a world that shouts so many other messages.  Father Gittins closely follows Pope Francis’ example and influence; he finds hope in Pope Francis’ words and deeds.  This is a chance for folks to come together during the season of Lent, deepen our faith and reflect on what it means to be a disciple.

Father Tony will also preach at all the weekend masses at St. Francis Xavier on Feb. 24-25.

Fr. Gittins is an missionary priest, author, and professor emeritus of Theology and Culture at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
