The Church needs you. Your enthusiasm. Your creativity and the joy that is so characteristic of you……. Pope Francis

Sacred Heart Religious Education needs you—your gifts, your energy, your passion, your faith, and your love! We currently have openings for catechists (teachers) and aides in a variety of grade levels. Catechists and aides volunteer on Sunday mornings from September through May to share our Catholic faith with the children of Sacred Heart. They work together as a team and are given the support and tools necessary to create dynamic lessons and meaningful faith experiences which have a lasting impact on the lives of their students. Catechists are volunteers of all ages who encourage children in their faith, while growing in their own. They are people just like you who don’t have answers to everything, but are willing to take the time to engage children in discovering who we are as Catholic people. Questions? Adult Education: The Infancy Narratives

As a way to prepare for Advent and Christmas, join world renown scripture scholar Fr. John Kilgallen, SJ for an in-depth look at the Infancy Narratives.  Why does Mark have no infancy story?   Would the Gospels be the same without the infancy narratives?   After looking at Mark, we will move to Matthew, Luke and finally John.   Fr. Kilgallen has taught scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and Loyola University Chicago.   We’ll meet in the Parish Office Fireplace Room for a one hour presentation, followed by questions & answers.  Join us on: Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. on October 31, November 7 and 14. Hope to see you there....
