Adult Formation Presents: Michelangelo & Dr. Mary Quinlan, September 18th at 7pm

Join us on September 18th at 7:00 p.m. for Bishop Barron’s Pivotal Players feature on Michelangelo, The Artist.  “The Master of sculpture and painting is not a saint but serves as the privileged representative of the creative potential engendered by the Catholic Faith.  The Church professes that beauty is a route of access to God, and through humanity’s creative artistry we glimpse the power and glory of the Lord.”  In this episode, Bishop Barron travels to Rome, Florence, and all the locations that played a significant role in the formation and vocation of Michelangelo, which in turn formed the life of the Church. We’ll be joined by Mary Quinlan, Ph.D., a Professor of Art History at Northern Illinois University.  She is a specialist in the Italian Renaissance and received her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago.  Dr. Quinlan will provide us with some additional insights on Michangelo, which will complement Bishop Barron’s series wonderfully. Join us in the Sacred Heart Parish Center at 7:00pm.   Come a little early to enjoy an adult beverage, along with some snacks and pizza! The Parish Center is located at the corner of Burr and Gage streets in Winnetka.  See you there!...

We’ll host a little reception after Mass.  Beer...
